BBF ACTIVELY RESPONDING HURRICANE HELENE

Two truckloads of relief shipments are scheduled to leave BBF’s warehouse on the North Side on the morning of Monday, October 7th.
- The first truck to Ashville, NC containing 19 pallets (38,304 bottles) of water, will be loaded at 8am.
- The second truck to Macon GA carrying 19 pallets of bottled water, 1 pallet of Boost Nutritional Drink (2,520 bottles), and 4 pallets (1,785) of hygiene kits, will follow at 10am.
To date, BBF has donated $100,000 to 6 foodbanks in the impacted areas in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. We are also looking at Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia and will be supporting relief efforts in all affected areas.
Additional shipments will include blankets, water, diapers, cleaning products, PPE, face shields, isolation gowns, goggles, and wipes, generously donated by partners including Giant Eagle, Highmark/AHN, MSA, Owens & Minor, and members of the Pittsburgh community. BBF is also working with UPMC physicians to assess the mental health impact of the disaster and provide oxygen containers for the elderly.
Lastly, BBF is tracking hurricane Milton which is projected to become a category 3 hurricane by Wednesday next week and impact the Tampa Bay area.
100% of funds received for BBF’s response will be used to support emergency relief and logistics.
