BBF Provides Critical Aid to Hurricane Helene Survivors

$100,000 in Grants Will Support Local Food Banks
As Hurricane Helene swept across the southeastern United States, it left a trail of destruction in its wake, impacting thousands of families and disrupting access to essential resources. BBF’s response focuses on supporting local food banks in the hardest-hit regions. Through a series of grants totaling $100,000, BBF is working to ensure that communities in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina have access to food and vital services during this time of recovery.
The following organizations have been provided grants from BBF:
- Middle Georgia Community Food Bank in Macon, GA
- Golden Harvest Food Bank in Augusta, GA
- Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC in Winston-Salem, NC
- Manna Food Bank in Asheville, NC
- Second Harvest of the Big Bend in Tallahassee, FL
- Feeding Tampa Bay in Tampa, FL
The Golden Harvest Food Bank provides meals to 24 counties across Georgia and South Carolina. In describing how BBF’s support will impact their relief efforts, they shared: “[BBF’s grant will be] crucial in supporting our ongoing relief efforts following Hurricane Helene. This funding will allow us to deliver essential food and water to families in the hardest-hit areas. With these resources, we can provide shelf-stable meals to communities that may be without basic necessities for an extended period. Your support will make a significant impact, helping us reach more families in need during this challenging time.”
BBF will continue to monitor the ongoing recovery efforts and will provide additional relief supplies and support as needed. In partnership with our network of food banks and local organizations, we will work to ensure that families impacted by Hurricane Helene receive the help they need to rebuild and recover.
BBF’s Disaster Response program strives to bridge the gap between emergency relief and long-term recovery, offering hope and support to communities when they need it most. 100% of donations made to BBF’s USA Disaster Response Fund are used for emergency relief and logistics.
