BBF Hurricane Response Update: Latest Shipment and Continued Relief Efforts

Hurricane Blog 10 30

As communities continue to recover from Hurricanes Helene and Milton and the associated tornadoes, BBF continues to provide support through relief shipments. Today, BBF is sending a shipment to Feed America First in Murfreesboro, TN. This shipment includes PPE, hygiene kits, medical supplies, and safety equipment generously provided by donors, including Highmark/AHN and MSA. These essential supplies will help meet the needs of those affected in Tennessee and surrounding areas.

In addition to today’s shipment, BBF has completed several other critical deliveries to support hurricane-impacted communities across the southeastern United States:

  • MANNA Food Bank in Asheville, NC: BBF shipped 19 pallets (38,304 bottles) of water to help alleviate the area’s water shortage, with supplies generously donated by Giant Eagle.
  • Middle Georgia Community Food Bank in Macon, GA: This shipment included 19 pallets of bottled water, one pallet of Boost Nutritional Drink (2,520 bottles), and four pallets (1,785) of hygiene kits, donated by Giant Eagle, BBF, and Owens & Minor.
  • Farm Share in Quincy, FL: BBF sent 176 generators, provided by Northern Tool, to support communities facing prolonged power outages and help them on their road to recovery.

BBF’s response has also included financial assistance and partnerships to address the diverse needs of affected communities. We have provided $140,000 in grants to food banks in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina, with additional aid planned for Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia.
