BBF Sends Two Trucks of Relief to North Carolina and Georgia in Response to Hurricane Helene

As communities across the southeastern United States begin to recover from the devastation of Hurricane Helene, BBF is responding to deliver support to those in need. Two trucks loaded with essential supplies have departed from BBF’s warehouse. The first truck, heading to Asheville, North Carolina, will deliver more than 38,000 bottles of water. The second truck to Macon, Georgia, will bring more than 38,000 bottles of water, 2,520 bottles of BOOST Nutritional Drink, and nearly 1,800 hygiene kits to help those in need.
Supporting Impacted Communities
To date, BBF has donated $100,000 to six food banks in the hardest-hit areas across Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. As BBF continues to monitor the damage, we are looking at expanding support to other impacted states, including Tennessee, Kentucky, and Virginia.
More Relief on the Way
Additional shipments are already in the works, and these will include essential items such as blankets, diapers, cleaning supplies, personal protective equipment (PPE), and hygiene products. BBF is grateful for the generous support from partners including Giant Eagle, Highmark/AHN, MSA, Owens & Minor, and the Pittsburgh community, whose donations make this relief possible.
BBF is also partnering with UPMC physicians to assess the mental health impact of the disaster and provide oxygen containers for elderly populations affected by the storm.
Preparing for the Next Storm
BBF is closely monitoring the development of Hurricane Milton, which is expected to strengthen to a Category 3 hurricane this week, potentially impacting the Tampa Bay area. As the situation unfolds, BBF will remain prepared to respond to the needs of those in the storm’s path.
